Shonishin

Shonishin is a Japanese form of acupuncture that uses gentle, non-invasive techniques to stimulate the body’s energy pathways. It is specifically designed for children, and is often used to treat a variety of conditions, including:

  • Sleep problems
  • Digestive problems
  • Allergies
  • Asthma
  • Ear infections
  • Colic
  • Constipation
  • Headaches
  • Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

Shonishin is a safe and effective treatment for children, and is often well-tolerated even by babies and toddlers. The techniques used in Shonishin are gentle and do not cause any pain, making it a good option for children who are afraid of needles.

I use a variety of tools, such as small metal rods, beads, and feathers, to gently stroke, tap, or press on the child’s skin. The specific techniques used will vary depending on the child’s condition and my assessment of their energy balance.

Shonishin can be used as a standalone treatment or in conjunction with other therapies, such as massage or herbal medicine. It is a safe and effective way to help children improve their health and well-being.
